EVMs Should Be Banned

The Developed nations, except the USA have discarded the EVMs.It so happened that in the 21st century a President was,EVEN, accused of "stealing Elections" [mis]using EVMs in the USA!
For a similar demand by AGP and BJP,prior to the 2011 Assam Assembly Elections, the Indira Congress party cited Tamil Nadu and Bengal poll results.

Opposition to raise Electronic Voting Machine issue | The Telegraph Calcutta

"The Opposition has decided to raise the issue of using electronic voting machine (EVM) at the daylong 7th Regional Consultation for Electoral Reforms here tomorrow. The regional consultation, organised by the Centre and the Election Commission on how to strengthen the electoral system, will be held at NEDFi House here.
The AGP and the BJP will make a strong case for its outright abolition at a gathering which would include Union law minister Veerappa Moily and chief election commissioner S.Y. Quraishi.
… AGP’s Arun Sarma … said they want the EVMs replaced as anything “manmade” can be “tampered with”.
In fact, we need a separate discussion on EVM as it has been discarded in developed countries. If the Congress can forecast who will be winning, we have reasons to believe something is amiss vis-à-vis the EVM,” he said.
In the just-concluded Assembly polls, the Congress won 78 of the 126 seats.
The AIUDF got 18, AGP 10 and BJP five, triggering allegations about EVM tampering.
The Congress, on the other hand, dismissed the allegation by pointing to the poll defeats of the ruling parties in Tamil Nadu and West Bengal.
Like Sarma, BJP president Ranjit Dutta has also decided to seek the abolition of theEVM to “save” democracy. “But we have not received any invitation so far,” Dutta said.
Full Article: Opp to raise EVM issue."
The following from the above article is  relevant :-
"In the just-concluded Assembly polls, the Congress won 78 of the 126 seats.

The answer of the Indira Congress party IS NOT CONVINCING, neither is IT CORRECT. The Indira Congress party, citing Tamil Nadu and Bengal results, can be cunning,as the following are what a shrewd person or party, would, consider:-
1.The stakes and PRIORITIES.Some PARTIES may have different priorities and may eye the Lok Sabha Elections.
2.The locations
3. Manipulate results in such a way as to Avoid suspicions,of FOUL PLAY.
If the results had been DIFFERENT, in the two states the EVMs would have been suspected. And no other party had any chance in these two States.
Hence there is a NEED for Using ONLY Ballot papers for Elections. The DEMAND is the USE of Ballot Papers,in 2012 Assembly and all subsequent Elections in India, and perhaps the USA too.
My Thanks are due to"thevotingnews.com" site, for this news-item.
